Serie Guernica

The Guernica Series consists of 12 medium format paintings on canvas and is a detailed examination of Guernica. In this sense, Anna-Lise Coste does not focus on the scene at large, avoiding historical contextualization, and focuses on the humanity contained in each representation. By fragmenting Pablo Picasso’s work character by character, she deconstructs it both formally and emotionally. Thus, "Guernica continues to stop the passage of time, but not because of its nature as a painting per se, but because of the deep emotions contained in it".
